[11:07] Duraya Resident: Thanks to Kika and Violette’s concentrated efforts we might have finally found the place to be and to stay 😉
[11:14] Duraya Resident: Kika will say a few words now
[11:14] Kika Yongho: Hello Photographer friends!
I am glad to see that all of you made it to the newly rebuilt location of the Photo Cafe’ chat circle in the swamp! I hope you’re comfy seated and that you had the time to cam around and see the work in progress finally unveiled!
[11:15] Kika Yongho: First of all I want to thank you all of you again for being here and I hope you can also stay for the following mini-dance of 1H, at 12PM, with our wonderful DJ:

[11:16] Kika Yongho: And – last but not least.. You must be wondering who’s behind this fabulous build! There is a % of my ideas, “disorder” and much scripting but the true artist of decoration who is behind this wonderful setup of the land is..

[11:19] Duraya Resident: I want to draw your attention to the fact that the results of the last challenge are displayed in the gallery we used for the meetings before. It’s right at the landing place. It was an exciting shoot and a lot of fun!
[11:19] Duraya Resident: Today we will have a different kind of getting to know each other through art.
[11:20] Duraya Resident: If you are willing to do something that might not work you are closer to being an artist.‘
[11:20] Duraya Resident: This is a quote by Seth Godin I found when I was seeking inspiration for the intro to our evening together.
[11:20] Duraya Resident: It perfectly delineates today’s agenda: ‚what are you currently examining in your work?‘.
[11:21] Duraya Resident: Without the energy we put into the development of our self-expression and the courage to fail trying we wouldn’t grow and our results would go stale. An endless row of repeating the same patterns.
[11:21] Duraya Resident: So we turn to something challenging, be it a new theme, a project or a new technique.
[11:22] Duraya Resident: We asked you to bring a picture to share what you are investigating at the moment.
[11:23] Duraya Resident: Please show your picture and share with us:
[11:23] Duraya Resident: How did you get interested in your current quest?
[11:24] Duraya Resident: What obstacles did you meet and hopefully overcome?
[11:24] Duraya Resident: And whatever else you find interesting in the process of course 🙂
[11:24] Duraya Resident: We prepared a canvas for you to show your work. You can step forward and explain or stay seated – as you prefer.

[11:31] Duraya Resident: was that a project Kika?
[11:31] Kika Yongho: Alright this photo is a SPOILER on the expo I was preparing about the theme “9 Muses in 2022”. The challenge has been going around many sims where rez was not possible and try to work attaching lights and projectors to me
[11:32] Kika Yongho: I worked as well with the post-production, especially with an effect that I like much that is the “double exposure” to make the photo more dramatic although in colors
[11:33] Kika Yongho: The expo is not started yet so after seeing this picture all of you will be flashed with a beam of light that will make you forget what you saw. Done ^^
[11:34] Duraya Resident: but we will remember in a corner of our mind that there will an expo about … what exactly … forgot ….
[11:35] Duraya Resident: Tacca you have a comment, please speak
[11:36] TaccaExotic: Oh, just that I love that piece, Kika has a good style

[11:38] Prins (skylog): I just made this. I work with depth in the image – this was not going as plan, since my setup lag out, but then I played with another layer and got some depth that way. It is from the new place here, I try to play with my images, but I don’t do avatar images, less planning.
[11:39] Duraya: I recognized – it’s a good one
[11:42] Duraya: okay – who wants to be next?

[11:43] Bonach Ireton: it’s a very simple one, i don’t know what to say about it

[11:45] Prins (skylog): there is no theme 🙂
[11:46] Duraya: what were you exploring in this picture
[11:46] Bonach Ireton: perfect then.. so just a simple pic, I liked the atmosphere, nature and the horse free
[11:46] Duraya: are you doing a series?
[11:46] Bonach Ireton: no just playing with the cam as usual, i like photos that tell stories
[11:46] Bonach Ireton: so edited slightly in Photoscape X
[11:47] Jaminda Moon (jaminda): its a lovely horse 🙂
[11:47] Michiel Bechir: and also a nice fading effect
[11:47] Bonach Ireton: it’s an av of mine and happens to be very close to a good RL friend i had when young. so yes just trying to render an atmosphere
[11:48] Bonach Ireton: It’s “miniature” effect on Photoscape, center on the subject, + a white vignette

[11:50] Sina Souza (sinalein): so, the Title of the image is “Scarecrow” for a exhibition in some months, so remember, flashed and forget it after the session 😛
[11:51] Sina Souza (sinalein): i just wanted to create an Image about the current situation we live with right now, War and Death in Ukraine, Pandemic, climate change, is hard to see some positive stuff, when you look into your television and media
[11:52] Sina Souza (sinalein): when you see all the time negative news, it is not easy to be positive by yourself, so maybe we should not soak it up all the time 🙂

[11:53] Duraya: but it’s good to bang it on a canvas and get it out of your system for a while 🙂

[11:53] Sina Souza (sinalein): yes. was hard to create the cables for it
[11:53] Duraya: Kapaan do you have a question?
[11:54] Kapaan: Hello, Sina I love this. I often see that we as artists create things from the dark side of our existence. Does anyone ever focus on silver linings?
[11:54] Michiel Bechir: i have a question for Sina
[11:54] Kapaan: done
[11] Duraya: yes Michiel
[11] Michiel Bechir: Did you think it out before you starting to take the photos? Or did it grow by trial and errors?
[11] Sina Souza (sinalein): oh, i always use to do some sketches and notes about the concept before i work inworld on the location and the shot, so it is always planned
[11:56] Duraya: great – Michiel you are next
[11:56] Michiel Bechir: My work is maybe not completely new
[11:56] TaccaExotic: c
[11] Michiel Bechir: but has been in the photo cafe before maybe, during my holidays
[11] Michiel Bechir: This work is the product of a lot of trials with light, shades and colors
[11:58] Michiel Bechir: i think i took over 50 pictures to find the right colors which belong to a night in the middle of summer
[11:58] Michiel Bechir: i hope i did find the right ones
[11:58] Jaminda Moon (jaminda): its great Michiel

[11:59] Morganna Ravenheart: the shadows give it depth, I think

[11:59] Michiel Bechir: when i took the photos I did work with Zia Branner, she is the model, and a rl artist
[11:59] Michiel Bechir: she did help me to pick the right colors
[11:59] Sina Souza (sinalein): yes, fits to the thing you have searched for, nice shot
