[12:08] Duraya: as always we will start with the news, will you please Kika
[12:09] Kika Yongho: Hello Photographers, good to see all here again today! Let’s start today’s episode #35 with our news:
[12:09] Kika Yongho: First news: the video stars! Like some of you have seen already, our Photo Cafe’ has been the location for an incredible video shooting by our new friend:

[12:11] Kika Yongho: Wow: so much going on here, uh?! But we’re not done. Did you all see the wooden house located to the East side of the land? Starting this month it will be hosting a very special type of expo: “Recycled Expos”! What does it mean? You had a past expo that you would like to be displayed again? Now you can! This space will host your past expo you were so attached to, or that other one that your new friends did not have the chance to see.. And so on!
[12:14] Kika Yongho: To start the Recycled Expo I volunteered my past expo from 2021 titled “Just Another Day”, that was realized for the sim Camp Italia (you can find the landmark into the info easel at the expo entrance!), in occasion of the International Day against violence on women. I choose to represent in my expo the daily subtle violence women are subjected to, to point the finger at it and try to break the bad habits as they start, before they become “usual” behaviors. I hope you will like the expo!
[12:15] Kika Yongho: If you have an expo that you would like to exhibit again here, please feel free to drop me an IM to arrange it for the next month! Don’t be afraid, you might save one of your fellow photographers from me volunteering them!

[12:17] Moonsoul Kiyori: I would like to thank you all for your input on my photo the other day. It was so incredibly valuable. I changed my photo and made a better one I hope. Thank you again
[12:18] Duraya: great feedback, thank you Moonsoul, that’s exactly what the cafe is about: mutual support
[12:19] Duraya: Well I am curious too about today’s episode as you can imagine.
[12:19] Duraya: Usually I try to be as well prepared as possible. But how to prepare for questions yet to be asked?
[12:19] Duraya: That’s what today’s episode is about: we are having an expert corner, all of you being the experts and the ones seeking expertise at the same time!
[12:21] Duraya: Ask, whatever you want! There are no limitations other than please ask something that has – in a broader sense – to do with photography.
[12:22] Duraya: Be it a technical question, some artistic advice or something more general, speak up and let’s hope someone has an answer 😉
[12:22] Duraya: Don’t forget – you get back what you put in!

[12:24] Duraya: and A. has a question I see
[12:27] A. (ava.darkheart): Yes! My first question ever in here.. hum. Am not sure it’s really fit the subject, but let’s go : Sometimes, I am editing a picture. I made different edit, like 3 or 4… and then I get stuck and can’t choose (but it’s a general attitude with me also). So my question was… What should be the important point to help the choice, technically?

[12:29] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): don’t think much about it, you know the best because of it’s your work and other people will not notice details as you do, i always choose 1st one. Done

[12:31] Moonsoul Kiyori: I am sure there are technical details that you only know. How you edited etc. The person that sees it, doesn’t know all that. I choose what is close to my heart. Done

[12:32] Kika Yongho: I don’t have a technical expertise but I would just follow my instinct and pick up the one that feels most “right” according to what you want out of the photo. If you are unsure how to achieve that, try and confront the edits 1 vs. 1 and the winner gets to be confronted with the other one. Done

[12:33] Duraya: I always keep the different stages of editing and don’t worry much, in the end it comes to choosing with your heart, it is your work! I hope that helped

[12:37] Kika Yongho: I have a question. My photography inspiration is very “moody”. Sometimes i take 1 even 2 pictures / day and sometimes I get the “photographer’s block”. How do you find inspiration again? Done

[12:38] Moonsoul Kiyori: I don’t know if inspiration can be forced. I find inspiration in a beautiful sim, in a feeling. I might do photos often or I might take months. done

[12:45] onceagain (manoji.yachvili): to me there are only two ways to take pictures, for pleasure and for work. In the first case, always in my opinion, it doesn’t matter when and how many you take. in the second you have to “DO” them and therefore the subject is given, in this way it is easier to make them. Done

[12:48] A. (ava.darkheart): As Once said, if it’s for work, no need for inspiration as you have some frame and direction. But I will say like Matt, take a break, do something you really like to do, that makes you feel good or happy, can be anything, and it’s different for everyone, taking a walk, read a good book, listening to music loud… whatever it is, feed your soul with what you enjoy and I’m sure inspiration will return. Done.

[12:51] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): I have 2 answers for you Kika, first you are not alone with that feeling, it’s happens to all of us i think. In those times i am viewing some of my fave artists works, reading their words and listening to their music and trying to find something about me and thinking about it.
[12:52] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): and 2nd….i can find blogger job for you, when you get new stuff from creators then you will have an inspiration. Done
[12:53] Kika Yongho: you guys wanna make me work more?! LOL

[12:53] DaneAlbion: i think perhaps you have to be happy to ‘fail’, you might only have a hint of an idea but still try and make something from it. The idea might not develop into anything that you like but at least you have kept your creative flow active. It comes back to the old line about perspiration and inspiration. Done

[12:56] onceagain (manoji.yachvili): Ava put it in a much better way what I meant by inspiration, but anyway I think there’s really no point in taking pictures unless you feel the need, you don’t need to force looking for inspiration, walking with bare feet in a park, or swimming or listening to good music. Done

[12:59] Duraya: so as has been said before we all experience lack of inspiration sometimes, but who says how much we need to ‘produce’ – that sounds too much like work for me

[13:02] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): sometimes I see someone sitting or standing somewhere in a public place and i like that scene in that time and i wanna take some photos there, do we need to ask permission about it? You knows RL photographers can do it, on streets or in nature but one person created drama for me about it in past…isn’t it just pixels here and no one knows that persons name?

[13:04] Moonsoul Kiyori: as in rl I think you are not allowed to post someone’s photo. you can always ask for permission to do that. On the other hand if you don’t post, then no one knows. Done

[13:05] Moonsoul Kiyori: I know but think rl and if you would like your face posted somewhere
[13:06] Duraya nods, we considered this as a theme for a Photo cafe already but didn’t prepare anything so far – we might have to study TOS to answer it correctly
[13:06] Moonsoul Kiyori: without your permission. Don’t get me wrong Aegean , I love your photos but In RL there is GDPR
[13:06] Duraya: but A has a comment, maybe that enlightens us
[13:10] A. (ava.darkheart): Well, in the past i used to do a lot of portraits in SL, so indeed, i guess we should read the TOS, but since it’s boring, my routine was to upload the pictures here and gift it to the pictured one. So ok, it cost me 10L$ for each portrait i made of strangers. I didn’t post them all, but many and at some point it was funny to see many people had their profile picture from me, what i mean is, that I had zero drama this way. Perhaps i “steal” their pixel face, but i gifted them so it helped. I dunno. Done
[13:11] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): yes, i remember that you did many face shots in past.
[13:11] Duraya: I agree, reading TOS is boring
[13:11] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): C
[13:14] ᴀᴇɢᴇᴀɴ (cooltang.flow): Kika’s question reminds me, even when we have no inspiration we can find some good scenes in world which were created by others but i don’t wanna talk with them and ask permission, i just wanna take that photo without any communication with people, if i see someone walking on the beach i can take that photo. Done
